AMAZING THREADS IN JUNE

All we can say about this weather is – STAY INSIDE & KNIT! - and we have some gorgeous cottons & blends for your summer knitting pleasure. Stop in & check them out. They are not only weather appropriate but economically appropriate, with gas prices what they are, most are under $5.00 a skein. We also have a new Bamboo tape yarn. You are always welcome to come & sit & knit at the shop- we'll have the air-conditioning on!

The yarn of the month is Encore – all regular in stock Encore will be 15% off this month.

We are postponing 2 classes this month – the weaving class & Socks 2 at a Time. July will feature 2 sock classes – the 2 at a Time & a summer anklet with a lace cuff & re-knittable heel. If the anklet doesn't float your boat you can make a sock of your choice with a re-knittable heel in class. We're putting July and August class schedules together now and will have a series of Oddball classes that will feature creative ways to work your leftovers into shawls, afghans & sweaters.

June 21^st is the date for the Hemlock Ring Afghan class. The class is FREE, just pay for your supplies. If you haven't seen the sample stop by & check it out – it is originally a 1940's doily pattern and it's gorgeous. It's appropriate for a beginning lace project even though it looks more impressive – 83% of it is just knitting (we counted) Don't be fooled by it, it's not complicated, we promise to hold your hand and it's guaranteed to get the most ooh's & aah's at the next baby shower.

REMINDER- We will be closed from June 24^th – July 7^th for vacation. But there will be the Tuesday Regular Group on June 24^th from 5:45-8:00pm.

Spinning will not meet the last Friday this month, but will be held on June 20^th, due to Susan's daughter's graduation. Hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone.

Hands down our most popular patterns are from Knitting Pure & Simple and many of you have looked through the binder, but have you been to their website? They have a Gallery section with pictures of what other knitters have knit using their patterns. You can see some interesting variations that may spark your creativity. Also the NEW patterns that will be out in just a couple of weeks are on their website – check them out. We are starting a Gallery of “Customer Creations” at the shop. If you have a project at you would like to show off, snap a photo of it (or stop by with it & we'll take a picture) to be added to our Gallery.

Our 2^nd sweater class continues to meet. They're working on adding cables & lace patterns to the Knitting Pure & Simple pattern of their choice. We are going to continue the class past he 4 week mark so if anyone would like to join us give us a call.

On Going Knitting Classes

Tuesday Night Regulars meet 6pm-8:00 pm (or thereabouts). Bring whatever you're working on or need help with. We order dinner around 6:15 since some knitters come straight from work, but this isn't required. Cost is $10.00 per session.

Wednesday Morning Regulars meet from 11 AM- 1PM. Bring whatever you are working on or learn to knit. Cost is $60.00 for six sessions or $10.00 per sesssion.

Class Policies

All yarns for classes must be purchased at Amazing Threads at time of class- or just prior if you need to do some pre-class knitting. When you sign up for classes, ask what needle size you'll need or bring a collection with you (the size I use may not be the size you need, but will usually be close to that size). There is a 10% discount on all regularly priced materials purchased for a class. Payment due upon registration. You may register in person or by mail, NO PHONE OR EMAIL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Classes must have a minimum of 3 students and will max at 10 students. Class fee is nonrefundable unless canceled by instructor or weather. Payment must be made directly to instructor. Send requests and payment to Amazing Threads, P.O. Box 717, Lake Katrine, N.Y. 12449.
