Welcome to Amazing Threads

We're the little business next door. We opened our doors about fifteen years ago, following a lot of planning and a dream -- to create a paradise for knitters, spinners and weavers here in the beautiful Hudson River Valley, just 90 miles north of New York City. The little shop has blossomed and expanded its horizons with world-wide mail order, thanks to a wonderfully supportive and creative group of customers. With our website, no matter where you live Amazing Threads is as near as your computer.

Amazing Differences...

The last thing we want is to be a "me too" shop. With that in mind, we'd like to point out some important differences that set us apart.

Fine Quality

Time and energy are too valuable to waste with second-rate materials. Our collection of fiber arts equipment, accessories and gifts reflects that point of view, along with a penchant for good value. In our shop, and here in this site, you'll find the most respected names in our industry.

Exclusive Knitting Designs

We have a very simple philosophy. The knitting designs presented here are, for the most part, to be found only at Amazing Threads. We don't have anything against the knitting patterns and yarns produced by the large companies and sold here in our shop, by mail or in your local knitting shop (if you can get it locally, please do!). We just love to exercise our creative freedom...coming up with our own unique creations that set us (and you) apart from the crowd. If we didn't come up with the design, the rule is that it has to be really special and something you probably haven't seen to be found at Amazing Threads.
